This guide will help you optimize the booking process using the Availability & Rates module in the Booking Engine, an essential tool for managing room availability and rates. You will learn how to apply discounts to stimulate bookings during low occupancy periods, as well as how to implement restrictions to improve room management efficiency. Follow the simple steps to adjust availability, rates, and special conditions to maximize occupancy and enhance the guest experience.
- Navigate to Menu > Booking Engine
- From the top right, select Availability & Rates
Here you will see a complete overview of all room types, associated rate plans, and daily prices. Use the following options to customize your availability and rates:
Set Discounts
- Click Discount next to the room type you wish to modify.
- Period: Define the duration for which the discount will be active.
- Rooms: Select the room types to which the discount will apply.
- Rate plans: Choose the specific rate plans that will have the discount applied.
- Offers: Select the special offers that will be part of the discount.
- Available: Specify the weekdays when the discount will apply.
- Discount %: Set the discount percentage.
❗If you need to remove a discount, follow the same process and set the Discount % to zero. This must be done for each room type you wish to modify. The discount will be visible in the rate box and will also apply to single-use rates.
📌 Note: Use discounts on days when your occupancy rate is lower than desired to stimulate bookings.
Set Restrictions
- Click Restrictions next to the room type you wish to modify.
- Restriction: Select the type of restriction.
- No departures: This will define the days when guests cannot check out.
- No arrivals: This will define the days when guests cannot check in.
- Active: Specify whether you want to activate or deactivate the restriction.
- Period: Identify the duration for which this restriction will be effective.
- Rate plans: Select the rate plans that will have the restriction applied.
- Offers: Select the special offers that will include the restriction.
- Available: Specify the weekdays when the restriction will be effective.
❗To remove a restriction, follow the same steps and choose to deactivate it. Repeat the process for each room type as needed. Click the arrow next to a rate plan to view the applied restrictions.
📌 Note: Implement 'no arrivals' and 'no departures' restrictions on Saturdays. This ensures that no check-ins are possible starting on Saturday, keeping your rooms available for bookings starting on Friday. Additionally, guests cannot check out until Saturday, meaning they are required to depart either on Friday or Sunday. This ensures maximum room availability and optimizes your occupancy rate.
