Channel Manager

Introduction

This guide will help you configure the Channel Manager section and synchronize with online partners in just three simple steps.

Set the rate plans

Rate plans represent how you want to sell the rooms.

More information about adding rate plans can be found here.

Set the rates for the rate plans

Rates represent the price at which you want to sell the rooms.

More information about adding rates can be found here.

Synchronize the partners

Synchronization involves mapping with each partner individually.

📌 Note: The synchronization process, both for availability and rates as well as for bookings, works as follows:

Synchronize Availability and Rates:

  1. The Pynbooking platform sends availability and rates to the partner (e.g., Booking.com).
  2. If everything works correctly, the availability and rates are displayed on the partner's platform, and they confirm receiving them.
  3. If the Pynbooking platform tries to send availability and rates to the partner (e.g., Booking.com) and the partner does not confirm receiving them, the Pynbooking platform resends the information at intervals until the partner confirms them.

Synchronize Bookings:

  1. When a guest makes a booking with the partner (e.g., Booking.com), the partner tries to send that booking along with all its details to the Pynbooking platform.
  2. If the Pynbooking platform receives the booking, it is entered into the Property Management System (PMS), and the partner (e.g., Booking.com) is notified that everything went well.
  3. If the partner (e.g., Booking.com) does not receive confirmation from the Pynbooking platform, then the partner sends an email to the accommodation unit with the booking and all its details.
  4. In this unlikely case, the hotelier is responsible for manually entering these bookings into the PMS. These extremely rare desynchronizations may be caused by various external factors, such as a connection issue with one of the partners, which cannot be controlled by our team.

iCalendar

iCalendar is a standardized file format used to transmit availability information between the Pynbooking PMS and booking websites like Airbnb, which do not have direct integration with our Channel Manager.

How it works

The Pynbooking platform transmits availability in real-time in iCalendar for each room. The online partner periodically checks availability in iCalendar, but the query interval strictly depends on the partner. The time can vary between 5 minutes and 4 hours.

iCalendar only transmits the availability from the calendar, not the restrictions set in the Rates & Availability system.

❗If you want to stop one of the connections, unmapping the rooms from the partner will not stop the connection. To stop a connection, you have the following options:

If you are using a unique rate plan for the respective partner, close the plan for sale for the desired period. More about this can be found here.

If you want to permanently stop the connection, access the partner's console, for example, the Booking.com extranet, and stop the connection with the Pynbooking Channel Manager.
