Who they are
Hotel Capitol is not just a hotel — it's a page from Bucharest's history. Located on the famous Calea Victoriei, it has been operating continuously since 1901. With 80 rooms and a team of 60 employees, it's a large-scale operation that requires rigorous management.
Dorin Zeldea, the hotel director, leads this team with a clear philosophy: technology should simplify, not complicate.
The challenge
Before 2017, Hotel Capitol operated with clunky software installed locally on PCs. There was no Channel Manager, no Booking Engine. Every availability update on booking platforms was done manually.
The consequences were predictable: the risk of overbooking was constant, time wasted on manual updates was enormous, and the front desk team was permanently under pressure. For an 80-room hotel on one of Bucharest's busiest avenues, the situation had become critical.
The solution
In 2017, Hotel Capitol implemented Pynbooking. The pleasant surprise? The system became operational within hours, not weeks.
Dorin best describes how accessible the system is:
I believe even my mother could work with Pynbooking.
The implemented modules covered all needs:
- PMS — complete management of all 80 rooms
- Channel Manager — automatic synchronization with all booking platforms
- Booking Engine — direct booking engine on their own website
- GuestApp — digital communication with guests
- ANAF and accounting integration — electronic invoicing and compliant reporting
The results
The transformation was complete. The Channel Manager eliminated overbooking from day one, and the Booking Engine opened a new direct booking channel, commission-free.
But perhaps the most telling result comes from a department that is rarely happy about technological changes:
Even our accountant is satisfied.
The ANAF integration and electronic invoicing system transformed a bureaucratic process into a nearly automatic one. Reports are generated with a few clicks, and tax compliance is no longer a headache.
After nearly a decade of collaboration, Dorin sums up the relationship in a single sentence:
If I had to describe the collaboration in one sentence, I'd easily say we feel they are part of our team.
What's next
Hotel Capitol continues to make history on Calea Victoriei, and Pynbooking remains the technology partner ensuring that behind-the-scenes operations run just as flawlessly as the guest experience. After nearly 10 years of collaboration, the relationship is stronger than ever.
