Who they are
SunScape Corbu is a passion project by Andreea Filip, an architect by profession, and her husband, who works in IT. The 8-room property is located in Corbu, in a magical area between the Danube Delta and the ancient fortress of Histria. Opened in 2023, SunScape operates seasonally, from May to September.
What makes their story special is the honesty with which they started: with no experience whatsoever in HoReCa.
The challenge
When we opened SunScape, neither of us had any experience in HoReCa. We were overwhelmed by the workload.
The first weeks were chaotic. Bookings came in by phone, email, and messages, and Andreea managed them in Google Calendar. The system seemed sufficient at first, but it quickly proved to be a trap. Overlaps started appearing, and each overbooking meant an unpleasant conversation with a guest who had planned their vacation.
As an architect and an IT professional, Andreea and her husband knew how to build and digitize, but they didn't know how the hospitality industry works. They needed a system that would guide them, not just give them a tool.
The solution
